A warm welcome to Heathfield

Firstly, can I thank you for your interest in our school. I hope this web site gives you a flavour of life at Heathfield, but I would urge you to come and visit us on a normal school day to meet our staff and to talk with some of our students. They will be very happy to show you round and to answer any questions you may have. We are very proud of our students and we certainly feel they represent the best possible advertisement for coming to Heathfield.

Visitors and friends of the school often comment on the very warm and lively atmosphere that exists at Heathfield. It is certainly a very happy school, a place where we expect students to take responsibility for themselves and for each other, where any form of bullying is totally unacceptable and where individuals are encouraged to thrive.

We consistently achieve excellent academic results with students from right across the ability range. Our students want to succeed and we enjoy very strong support from parents. We are also lucky in having such a dynamic and committed team of staff who provide an extraordinary range of opportunities for every young person to achieve success in extra-curricular activities. At Heathfield, we really do believe in the value of educating "the whole child".

As a parent, I want and expect my own four children to enjoy going to school and to learn in a disciplined, well-ordered environment. I also want them to have fun, to be challenged, to develop a real love of learning and finally to leave school as confident, committed young adults, well equipped to take on the responsibilities of the adult world. As a Head, I want nothing less for every child who comes to Heathfield.
